One of the main advantages of MMORPG with Controller Support is the opportunity to choose a relaxed style of gameplay. The controller support feature was added in many video games to solve this problem. ports of these projects are usually buggy and even in some cases are almost unsuitable for correct gameplay.

Since the console games are much more popular than pc analogues, the developers are most likely concentrating on the development of console mechanics. The controller support is usually featured in cross-platform MMORPG projects, which is developed in parallel for P.C. I don't think so.īut MMO in general is a pretty vague term with no clear definition, so maybe I was out of line in saying "Definately not an MMO" but I still don't think it is.More About MMORPG with Controller Support To look at it from the other perspective, if you made it so you could see other players in towns in Diablo 3 and had a server wide chat room, does it turn Diablo 3 from an ARPG to an MMO? Again. Same reason I don't call Guild Wars 1 an MMO. Not when the majority of the content is restricted to party based instances. Would it still be an MMO? I don't think so. It's as if World of Warcraft instanced all their content outside of towns. It's essentially a party based ARPG with an interactive multiplayer lobby. You can see quite a few people in town, sure, but not in the field. While it's true that there are tons of players all connected to the same servers simultaneously, the actual gameplay elements are not executed on a "massive" scale. I don't know anything about DFO or Vindictus. Honestly none of those are strictly new games, more revamps and expansions, but it's hard for me to get hyped for totally new MMOs before they launch anymore. Hopefully the revamps they make to the combat will help it here.
I love the world and storytelling of TSW more than any other game on the market, but the animation and combat both dragged it down for me. Not enough to make it interesting for me, but I know a lot of people who are into it. XIV wasn't for me, at least so far, but it's a big release and they seem to be doing a fair bit to clean up the combat. Destiny 2 looks like it picks up from there, so if you are interested in a shooter MMO-lite, that may be up your alley.įFXIV: Stormblood. I only played Destiny 1 at launch, so only saw it when it wasn't very good, but by all reports it was pretty good by the end of it's life cycle. I WILL IGNORE YOU IF YOU DON'T.ĭestiny 2.
